At last, the full Standard (aka Olympic) distance race is here at the fantastic Dorney Lake, the Rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games.
The Dorney Steelman Triathlon is a 1,500m open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the closed, flat road circuit for an 8-lap bike course covering 40.8k. The final 10k run follows a 4 lap loop along the side of the rowing tank on the tarmac paths. We reckon that if you're looking
for a PB over accurate distances then this is where you're going to find it. For an overview map of the course follow this link.
In order to appeal to as many triathletes as possible of all abilities we are running the full distance event both as an individual race or as relay teams. (In the team events-mixed teams will be classed as Male.)
In the relay event there should be three people per team with one doing each sector and then handing over to the next.
For those less certain of their abilities we're continuing with the proven ¾ distance event which comprises an 800m open water swim, 30k closed circuit bike and a 7.5k run, We are calling this the challenge distance.
Full on-site parking means you can come and go while the event is taking place, we have showers and toilets aplenty and there is catering and an on-site triathlon store provided by triandrun.
The event is open to any athlete who can cover the distance and is ideal for those that want to do their first Standard/Olympic distance or challenge distance event.
Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 in each wave/category. Details will be in the race info pack. Race details/timings/wave structure will be mailed out to all entrants at least two weeks before the race and you will also be able to see them on the website, see the menu bar at the top of the page. An online entry list of competitors in each event can be accesses from the menu bar as well.

Keep an eye on this page as we'll be adding more details on the event in the very near future. You can also take a look at the gallery images from 2005 for a taste of what goes on at an Eton event.
