220 Triathlon Magazine have teamed up with Human Race and VO2 to bring you perfect evening racing.
Evening Triathlon Events – Ideal after work stress busters and a good solid mid week training session under race conditions. All abilities of athletes are catered for in the two wave start.
Wave one is at 6.00pm, wave two goes at 6.30pm and the third wave starts at 7.00pm. This format gives everyone the chance to race after work. 220 Triathlon Magazine have come on board as the event sponsors and will be running monthly reports on the events. Plus every finisher gets a free 220 Human Race T-shirt and other goodies. The normal high standard of event organisation is to be expected with chip timing being standard at all four evening events.
The event registration and transition areas are located at the far end of the lake, i.e. the opposite end to the boat house. Car park marshals will meet and guide you from the front gate of Dorney Lake.
The race begins with a mass, deep water swim start, followed by one lap of the 750 metre clear, open water swim. The course is marked with swim buoys and RNLI qualified Beach life guards will be present with safety craft. A swim course map will be displayed and the course route will be clearly explained in the race briefing.
The Bike course is 5 laps of the ‘Island’. This comprises of two ‘2km’ straights with dead turns at the each end. Perfect for extra fast bike splits-20km in total. The chip timing system will give read outs of your lap times on the bike but the emphasis is on you to count your own 5 laps. The run course is two laps of out and back then down the finish straight. The course is designed so you constantly get a good idea of where you are in the race in comparison to your rivals!
All race details, maps and timings will be provided on the website and race numbers and details will be emailed out at least two weeks before the race.
All race entries are online for the evening triathlons. A confirmation of entry will be emailed to you.
Each wave is limited to 150 entrants...so get your entry in EARLY!
Held at Eton College’s, Dorney Lake, the 100% traffic free roads are pancake flat and are very well surfaced. The bike course is out and back.
Full on-site parking means you can come and go while the event is taking place, we have showers and toilets aplenty and there is catering and an on-site triathlon store provided by triandrun.

Globally 884 million people live without safe drinking water and 2.5 billion do not have adequate sanitation. WaterAid is an international charity that fights to change this and enable the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water and sanitation. Together with improved hygiene, these basic human rights underpin health, education and livelihoods, forming the first essential step in overcoming poverty. We work with local partners, who understand local issues, and provide them with the skills and support to help communities set up and manage practical and sustainable projects that meet their real needs.
If you would like to raise sponsorship for WaterAid then you can create your own sponsorship page by going to www.justgiving.com/wateraid. You can also contact Jill or Kat for a fundraising pack by calling 020 7793 2232 or emailing events@wateraid.org. Just £15 can enable one person to access safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation so however much you can raise will make a huge difference.
If you require accommodation we recommend the nearby Copthorne Hotel who can be contacted on 01753 516222 or by emailing leanne.bennett@millenniumhotels.co.uk
