IMPORTANT RACE INFORMATION
Thank you for entering the Race Your Pace half marathon at Dorney Lake – a stunning location for a half marathon. We are proud to have the Runner’s World Pace Team in attendance, who will offer runners the opportunity to understand and experience one of the key factors in running a successful race – pace judgement. This pancake-flat, four-lap course is ideal for you to find your correct pace and to smash your PB and is timed to fit in with preparations in the run up to the Virgin London Marathon. Afterwards you can join Olympian Liz Yelling for a post-race seminar on getting the best out of your run in preparation for a spring marathon. You can sign up for the seminar if you haven’t already on the website Seminar Page.
VENUE
The venue will be accessible from 8am onwards. Toilets and showering facilities are available. There is a cafe upstairs in the Boathouse for drinks and food, which opens at 9am.

WITHDRAWALS
If, for any reason, you need to withdraw from the event after you have entered then you should read our Withdrawals Policy on the Human Race website and follow the instructions there.
BASIC EVENT RULES
As this is a training event on closed roads, the use of MP3 players and ipods will be allowed. However please keep volume low and be aware of your surroundings; other runners or marshals may need to get your attention. Please note that Human Race do not normally allow the use of ipods and MP3 players at our events, Race Your Pace is an exception to the normal rule.
IMPORTANT: Do not fold your timing chip flat or wrap it around your laces. In order for it to work there needs to be a loop where air can flow through a gap.

THE COURSE
Half Marathon run. See the map above for the run course. The start line is a quarter way down “the island”, approximately a 10 min walk from the finish area. You will run in an anti-clockwise direction around the lake. The course has been measured and verified by Hugh Jones, former London Marathon winner, IAAF Olympic course measurer and London Marathon course measurer, so it will have very accurate mile markers in position. We are the first to admit that the course is not particularly interesting but it is really flat, and the four-lap course allows you to pace yourself correctly. After completing your fourth lap, there’s a short finish straight with the finish line just in front of the Boathouse. There is one water station and one Lucozade Sport station on the course which means that both are available on each lap of the run (at 3.5 miles, 7 miles and 10 miles). The water will be available in plastic cups, and Lucozade Sport in bottles. Please throw any leftover bottles/gels etc next to the mile markers for collection and recycling.
UPDATE EMAILS
We will be emailing important race updates to all competitors in the countdown to race day. A copy of all these emails will be posted on the Race Page of the website.
RESULTS
Results will be produced immediately, and will also be on the Human Race website as soon as possible after the race.
AWARD CATEGORIES
Prizes will be awarded near the finish gantry for the first five male and females in the Performance wave.
FINALLY
Enjoy the race! The marshals are there for your safety, and the occasional thank you does wonders. We are honoured to hold the race in such a beautiful environment. Please respect the area, keep it clean and tidy and avoid littering. Please take your rubbish home.
