Provisional Start Time: 9:00am Registration for a 10:00am Start
ENTRY DEADLINE: 9PM MONDAY 21st MAY 2012 (OR EARLIER IF FULL)
Do you need help to prepare you for your first triathlon? Are you entering the Shock Absorber WomenOnly Triathlon? Or do you want to improve your times this year? The female elite athletes, specialists and coaches of theTriLife.com will all be on hand to present sessions focusing on all three disciplines of triathlon and to give you the chance to practice your transitions.
Sponsor, Shock Absorber will be at the training day, offering fitting advice and information on their range of sports bras. If you’re unsure of what to wear under your wetsuit, Shock Absorber has a range of swimwear with integrated sports bra which is perfect when it comes to the need of support in Triathlon.
Starting an open water triathlon with confidence is key for every competitor, and our aim is to provide you with all the advice and support to help you achieve this. The training will be aimed at both complete novices doing their first triathlon as well as those who have completed 1-2 triathlons but still feel like they need help on improving their triathlon technique early in the season. The sessions will provide you with both practical and theoretical advice.
These are just some of the things you will cover:
Swim: Open water swimming techniques including group starts, course sighting, turning, removing wetsuit etc. There will be special provision for nervous and first-time open-water swimmers.
Bike: Bike set-up and body position, bike handling skills including drinking on the bike, turning and efficient pedalling - and what do you do if you have a puncture!
Run: Efficient run technique, good warm up and post exercise stretching, pace judgement, correct shoes.
Transition: Kit layout, options to save time, applicable rules.
Numbers will be limited so early application is required.
