The full Standard (aka Olympic) distance race is here at the fantastic Dorney Lake, the Rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games.
The Standard SteelMan Triathlon is a 1,500m open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the closed, flat road circuit for an 8-lap bike course covering 40km. The final 10km run follows a 4 lap loop along the side of the rowing tank on the tarmac paths. We reckon that if you're looking for a PB over accurate distances then this is where you're going to find it.
The 3Quarter Distance has been added as an entry option. The 3Quarter distance is a 1000m swim followed by a 6 lap 30km Bike and a 3 lap 7.5km Run.
In order to appeal to as many triathletes as possible of all abilities we are running the full Standard and 3Quarter distance events both as an individual race or as relay teams. (In the relay event-mixed teams will be classed as Male.)
In the Relay event there can either be 2 or 3 people per team to cover each of the Swim, Bike, Run disciplines.
The Mixed Team Relay is where FOUR athletes race together as a team. Each person swims, bikes and runs then hands over to the next person who then swims, bikes and runs and so on until the fourth person crosses the finish line. NOTE: There must be a female in the four person team.
The event is open to any athlete who can cover the distance and is ideal for those that want to do their first Standard/Olympic distance event.
