Harvey Selby had a vision to widen the circle of support given to others. He saw the opportunity to combine the fastest growing sport with that of raising money for charities, and dreamt up Tri for life, an event for all the family; fun, energetic but with a serious goal, to raise money for those in need. Although Harvey passed away in 2008, he lived long enough to see the inaugural event. His vision was an important one, one now being continued.
Tri for life is all about combining a fun, challenging day out with raising money for charity. Our 2008 and 2009 events raised closed to £300,000 and our target for this year is to raise £200,000.
We’re delighted to let you know that this year, the money raised will be going to Rays of Sunshine, World Jewish Relief, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. In addition, a significant proportion of the funds raised will be distributed to a variety of much smaller, lesser well known charities. These will be selected by the Tri for life trustees according to strict criteria. For more details about exactly what your money means to each of the charities, please go to the charities section of the Tri for life website – www.triforlife.co.uk
Please see the FAQ section of the Tri for life website for more information.
Withdrawal Policy
All profits from Tri for life will be distributed to charities and we are therefore unable to refund entry fees if you withdraw from the race, for whatever reason.

The event will be held at the Olympic rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games. Dorney Lake offers a clean open water swim, followed by a closed bike loop around the Lake, and finally the run goes down the side of the lake, making it the perfect course for beginners and seasoned triathletes alike. It's great for spectators, they can see you on each lap.
Full on-site parking means you can come and go while the event is taking place, we have showers and toilets aplenty and there is catering and an on-site triathlon store provided by triandrun.
